The Great Gatsby

First there was the novel.

From the Wikipedia entry:
The Great Gatsby is a novel by the American author F. Scott Fitzgerald. First published in 1925, it is set on Long Island's North Shore and in New York City from spring to autumn of 1922.
The novel takes place following the First World War. American society enjoyed prosperity during the "roaring" 1920s as the economy soared. At the same time, Prohibition, the ban on the sale and manufacture of alcohol, made millionaires out of bootleggers.

Then there was a great motion picture.

The summary from IMDB:
The movie the Great Gatsby was made 1974 Directed by Jack Clayton starring Robert Redford, Mia Farrow, Bruce Dern, Karen Black.
Written by Francis Ford Coppola Director Jack Clayton
Nick Carraway, a young Midwesterner now living on Long Island, finds himself fascinated by the mysterious past and lavish lifestyle of his neighbor, the nouveau riche Jay Gatsby. He is drawn into Gatsby's circle, becoming a witness to obsession and tragedy.

The Roaring Twenties was a time for women to let their hair down and have a lot of fun drinking, dancing, smoking, and staying out late on the arms of their gentleman friends. It was a time of great style. The 20's gave us some great fashion that is still worn today.

Daisy's jewelry is from a long gone era but it still lives today in my designs. This is a long pearl necklace with four strands of glamorous white pearls and a Napier gold chain. A bold encrusted medallion with vintage jewelry, looks like it came out of the 20's. I can picture Mia wearing this one.
